The Best of My 2010

The Best of My 2010

“An optimist stays up until midnight to see the New Year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”

Year 2010 made a big change in my life – family, career and personally. These were my priorities for last year and I can say that I made something remarkable for my 2010. As my shout-out for 2010 goes “Biga’10 na 2010”, indeed it was a big year for me!

" The family.  We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together.." ~ Erma Bombeck

New Year Celebration - 2010.
Since 2009, we welcome the New Year at grandma’s house in Quezon. We celebrate life’s blessing for the whole year and welcome another year of hope and success for each and everyone. Together with my mom and dad, my sibs, my lola, my titos and titas, and my cousins; New Year celebrations became our family reunion.

As we welcome 2010. Biga'10 na 2010!

Every year, since I am the eldest amongst my cousins and at the same time, I already have a job, it became a tradition to give my New Year gifts to everyone. This is to share my blessing to the persons I only have in this world.

Gift-giving for my cousins every new year.

Simple way to say thank You. Sharing my blessings.

Masbate Homecoming.
Every summer, I always see to it to visit my parents in the province. For me, summer means plunging to Masbate’s white-sand beaches and island hopping to different islands here in the province. It is Masbate’s pride, that even the one of the poorest provinces in the country, it has something to offer to it’s natives as well as to its visitors.

This year was different from the previous years' homecoming in Masbate because one of the high school friends passed away - Ryan Joseph Arizala. It really broke my heart because the last time we saw each other was also during the summer of 2009. And also, we planned to have our reunion this year and he was the one arranging everything since he stays in Masbate.

We miss you, Ryan.
In memory of a very dear friend.

Mom and Dad’s Silver Anniversary.

" A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person."
 - Germaine Greer

Just last December 21, my parents celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. We had a simple get-together with family and relatives to celebrate this very special event. It called for a celebration when a couple has been together for a quarter of a century and their relationship has survived the battles of this disparaging world.

CAREER.

"I do not know anyone who has got to the top without hard work. That is the recipe. It will not always get you to the top, but should get you pretty near." - Margaret Thatcher

Year 2010 had been very good also when it comes to my career growth. I was given a chance to handle transition team twice - Team DianaSoars in June-August and Team Lycans from November to present. I was given a chance to share my best practices and inspire these agents until they get regularized. Believe me, this was one of the best jobs ever! It’s all worth it.

This year, I also celebrated my 24th birthday. 24 years of happiness and success. God was so great to me and he gave me these blessings. I may not have everything, nut never I had nothing. Every prayer was answered. He gave everything I asked for. I owe everything to Him and without Him in my life, I was nothing. Thank You! You are my God. For the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory are Yours forever.

Life inspires, life re-fires, and life perspires. You may not realize it, but everything around you can contain a moment to inspire. When you are inspired you are lighting an extinguished fire within that keeps you going and creating desires. In order to get what you want from life you have to perspire, meaning work hard.
